The Dream Team
Bobby Jones
Founder / CEO
Purple, Rock, Scissors is where I work and I play. I am courageous, a risk-taker, a skeptic, a perfectionist; I have a lot to say but rarely say it. I truly believe timing is everything. I am learning to be a father. (I love you, Riley.) I am loved by, and in love with, my wife. I am an interface designer at heart, but would say i have an unnatural obsession and excitement with web standards and coding in general.
A few things I like… trying to scream like Underoath, Chipotle, collecting vinyl toys, Diggnation, Northland Church, ideas with purpose, going to shows, shooting photos, how the drums sound on a rock-n-roll record, trips to the Apple store, espresso shots with friends, fall, being up for daybreak, fresh air, buying organic, the beach, and road trips with no plans.
Aaron Harvey
Partner / COO
I’m Aaron, I handle the new business at Purple, Rock, Scissors. I’ll work with you to develop and manage your digital strategy. At the concept phase, ideas are passed off to the genius of our design and development teams. From there, I oversee the strategic direction of your account.
I love music. I’ve driven over 100,000 miles and flown across the world in pursuit of it. I guess that means I like to travel, too. I’ve been to 46 states and 15 countries. I have a map of the world in my office to keep me motivated. I also love to surf and play chess, and I’m freakishly obsessed with my dog, Scout.

Michael Parler
Interactive Director
Every project needs a plan: construction, civil engineering, even website development …especially website development. Without a solid foundation to support the end vision, ideas only exist in the mind. I take the opportunity to help guide our clients through their own ideas, putting thought to paper, breathing life into invention.
With a focus on simplicity, practicality, and metrics-driven, heuristic design, I work directly with our clients every step of the way. From preliminary interviews exploring your company’s goals, to transposing goals into tangible concepts and Blueprints, to overseeing regularly-scheduled checkpoints during assembly, to beta demos, to final deployment, to ongoing evaluation of your site’s performance, I’m here to ensure that your plans manifest online into a realistic return on your investment.
Shayne Bruno
Creative Director
I’m the creative director here at Purple, Rock, Scissors. I guess you could say I make the web look pretty. I have been working here for almost three years. I love being able to ride my bike to work and hang out with some of my best friends all day.
When I’m not shift clicking I like to spend time with my family. I love going home for the weekend and building new things. I like skateboarding, surfing, and riding bikes. Music is one of the most important things in my life. It inspires me. Even though I can’t play an instrument, I can probably rap every Tupac song ever release. Peace…

Rob Zienert
Lead Developer
I was blessed with being born into a tech-savvy family: my dad being a vehicle engineer at Ford and my mom a database programmer — it only made sense that I put my genetic inheritance to good use, so here I am. Whether it be application architecture, code reviews, or any flavor of voodoo-techno-whizbang; its my job to make sure your application or web site functions technically.
Outside of the office, I have the pleasure of serving as a Program Advisor for Full Sail University’s Web Design and Development Bachelor Program. But alas, not all I do is work, oh-no. I’m super passionate about fast, sexy cars (and bikes), painting, coffee, watching the History channel, and playing paintball.
Oh! How could I forget: My nickname around town is RZA, like the rapper, because I’m so convincingly street.
Alex Lirtsman
Marketing Director
Analytics, Email Marketing, Social Media, Multivariate Testing, SEO, Paid Search, Contextual and Behavioral targeting… I’m the guy behind the buzz that makes sure that your project makes you money! It’s that simple! I develop and execute online marketing plans, and battle with the creatives for substance over style. For calls to action over pretty images. For conversions over engagement. My mission is simple: to drive profitable targeted traffic to your site, and then segment, analyze, and lift the conversion rate of that traffic.
Zach Wood
Client-Side Engineer
I’m Zach, a Client-Side Engineer here. What does that mean? It means I’m responsible for all the fun stuff your browser (the blue “e” on your desktop) displays. I take those cutesy designs you love and turn them into something useable on the web.
When I’m not crushing it at the Purple headquarters, you can find me scooting my bicycle around Downtown Orlando complaining about all of the cobblestone streets. I’ve got a computer-screen suntan, live directly above the railroad tracks, and get overly excited when Hulu alerts me about a new “30 Rock” episode.
Halley Jones
Office Manager
Hi, I’m Halley the only girl on the Purple, Rock, Scissors Team. I handle everything from keeping the power on to invoicing our clients! I am married to and look forward to spending the rest of my life with the guy who also happens to be at the top of this page(Bobby). Currently, I only work part-time because my days are usually spent chasing after our 10month 2 year old Riley. I know it sounds cliche, but I really don’t know how I lived without him. He is the most amazing person I’ve ever met and I absolutely LOVE being his mommy. Other things I love are music, date nights, hanging out with my friends when I get the chance, art, chai tea lattes, my new Volkswagen, and traveling.
Chris Burdick
System Administrator / PHP Developer
While I am officially a PHP Developer and Systems Administrator for Purple, Rock, Scissors, I consider myself to be a jack-of-all-trades. I have done a little bit of everything and have a storehouse of useful (and some useless) knowledge to share with the world. It is part of being what I like to call an “NBG” or “Natural Born Geek”. While I don’t look like a “stereotypical” geek, I have had a fascination with anything technical since the age of 7, got into software development in high school, and later got into artificial intelligence/robotics in college. After 24 years of living in a town of 7,000 people (thats 7K not 70K) in Connecticut, it was time to move on to Orlando, my new home. It was a big change, but certainly worth it.
When I’m not at work, I like to hit up theme parks, watch a little TV, play some video games, hang out with friends, or cook. Cooking is a side passion of mine, and I love to whip up a fresh dish instead of eating out all the time. Nothing beats a relaxing night in with friends with a good bottle of wine, a newly discovered recipe, and good music to bring it all together. What defines good music? Everyone is different, but I like a little of everything–from techno to indie to country to alternative rock to classical to jazz. No genre goes untouched in my collection.
Rabbit
Developer
Echo, my name is Rabbit! My given name is Aaron van Kaam, but as Butch from Pulp Fiction would say, “I’m American, honey. Our names don’t mean [Salisbury steak]!”
Jen (my sunny side up) and I are huge fans of Purple Rock Scissors! I am so very honored to be welcome among their family of geniuses and I’m always looking to contribute wherever I can.
I am a self-deprecating, coding juggernaut with a history in roughly 0×028 languages (that’s a keg full), a passion for minimalist design, and a hunger for everything PHP. I am essentially what you get from a childhood of breaking apart electronics, reverse engineering software, and one too many Bugs Bunny cartoons. The kind of mischievous punk that teachers sent to detention for programming a video game in class because the school wouldn’t allow third party software to be installed (jerks). I am the resident user-centric identity and OpenID evangelist. If you want to talk nerdy to me, tell me you like my OpenID (=Rabbit)! I’m a shy hacker so if you see me downtown give me an echo!
Scout
Security Officer / Receptionist / Mascot
My first priority is office security. And food. Actually, food is my first priority. So yea, office security is my second priority. I’ll be the first to greet you, and if you check out OK, I’ll let the others know it’s safe to proceed. Don’t be alarmed if I bark – I’m just doing my job.
I like to sleep in the little patches of sunlight that break through the office windows and onto the floor. The sound of foot traffic in the kitchen is like sweet music in my ears. I often fall asleep begging, and dream of running wildly through an endless field chasing rabbits and birds and other fun stuff.
A note of caution to any out-of-towners: Don’t try to hunt for swans at Lake Eola, THEY WILL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!
