When Orlando Utilities Commission asked us to streamline their payment process, we answered with a new website (ouc.com) and enterprise information management system (my.ouc.com), allowing customers to pay bills, manage accounts, and monitor their consumption habits all from one easy dashboard.
On top of building a scalable, centralized architecture to connect OUC’s many payment systems, we added an autopay feature that cut transaction costs by 99%.
As one of the first utilities in the country to automate their customer service offerings, OUC is living up to their slogan as “The Reliable One,” and we’re continuing to help them innovate along the way.
Bringing New Energy to the CMS Website
This month, PRPL’s product engineers rolled out the latest updates for OUC.com, including an overhaul of their Sitefinity CMS. The upgrade includes increased security, functionality, and state-of-the-art code. We worked hand-in-hand with OUC’s IT team and their security partner to ensure the enterprise CMS solution was compliant with new standards.
Accompanying the revamp, we pushed a handful of other initiatives, including a Google Translate widget that enables the site to accommodate 100+ different languages and a mobile responsive solar calculator for their solar marketing campaign.
So, what’s next for one of the largest municipal utilities in the country? We’re working on a redesign of the OUC.com homepage, a global notification banner in multiple languages, and an information architecture upgrade to prep for their new water initiative.
