Spotlight: Chris Reath

If there's anyone that'll keep you relevant, it's the rap-tastic PRPL Creative, Chris Reath. Just reading his words makes you feel more hip. Here, see what we mean.Name: Christopher Touche ReathHometown: Miramar, Florida.Nickname(s): Cambo, Hambone, Childish Cambino, Cambotron, ChristophersonYears at PRPL: 2.53Spotify Playlist:CHILL MURRAY, TRILL MURRAY
What do you do here?
I make digital experiences that provide engaging visual solutions to our client. In layman's terms, I make it pop. (kidding) When I’m not doing that, you can find me yelling about the latest Sketch update and how it broke everything again.
What was the inspiration for your playlist?
I listen to a wide spectrum of music. CHILL MURRAY has a lot of low tempo goodness, syrupy beats and smooth grooves. TRILL MURRAY on the other hand is filled with new school hip hop from the TDE camp and other favorites. Also, all songs within TRILL MURRAY have passed the Tom Haverford's "Is it a Banger" playlist test.
Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle?
One’s a walking salad, the other’s a talking turtle. Charmander however, is a dinosaur that spits hot fire. Let’s be real— I’m going for the reptilian flamethrower. Don’t get it twisted though it’s still Team Mystic all day. Come get some.
Do you have a go-to site for design inspiration?
From Up North has been quite the gem for me. They curate a wide range of mediums from specialty ink print pieces to refreshing architecture design.
What's one thing that people say you do too often?
I’m always trying out a new product or service. Thanks to sites like Product Hunt, I've gone through hundreds of productivity apps and novelty services like a site that ships your enemies glitter.
If you were a kitchen appliance, what would you be and why?
A zest grater. Cause I only got one job. KEEPING IT FRESH AF.
Favorite Pantone?
NOUGAT 16-1320 — ALSO KNOWN AS MY SKIN COLOR.
What is your favorite part about working at PRPL?
The lunch and learns have been great— we’ve gone through a range of topics from making our workflows more efficient through the Pomodoro Technique, to learning how to play Magic the Gathering (which I'm still terrible at).
Choose one catchphrase forever.
oh sh*t waddup. [Watch your language, Christopher.]
What would you do if you could get back the time you spent on this interview?
I would have continued to wait for the new Frank Ocean album to drop, just like everyone else. Thanks, Chris! We're right there with you.
